Every page here is assembled the same way from the same four inputs.
- Specification fields as the maker states them, mapped into one shape so that two products can be read against each other.
- A price, taken from the listing on the day the page was last refreshed.
- A crowd score — Amazon’s buyer average. We hold one for 1,132 of 1,134 products.
- A photograph from the listing; 1,133 of 1,134 products have one on file.
What the number is
No editor here assigns a mark. The figure on the page is the mean rating Amazon customers gave the product, and it moves when their ratings move.
An important limit
We have not tested any of these products. No unit has been ordered, unboxed, measured or lived with. Anything that only reveals itself in use — how loud it is, how it holds up, whether the app is any good — is outside what this site can tell you.
How the shortlist is made
Products come onto a page because they are the ones sold under the search a reader is likely to run. We do not accept payment for inclusion, and no brand has been given a place on a list.
Prices change
The price on a page was true when it was read and may not be true now. Amazon changes prices often, sometimes several times a day. Treat every figure here as a marker, and take the price on Amazon as the real one.
Corrections
If a specification is wrong, a product has been discontinued or a page implies something we have not earned the right to say, tell us on the contact page. Corrections are made to the page itself, not in a footnote.
